Configure Lexmark printer through Embedded Web Server

Setting up Printer Administrator credentials

To prevent printers from being reconfigured by an unauthorized person who could disable Celiveo you need to define an administrator login/password used on the printer.
You will need to indicate that set of credentials in the printer settings during the import process, the Celiveo ABA for browser will use it to install the agent and configure the printer.
Follow these instructions to configure the Lexmark printer through Embedded Web Server.

  1. In the browser address bar, enter the IP address of the printer in the format shown below:
    https://Device_IP_Address
The device Embedded Web Server page opens.
  2. Click Settings in the left panel, then click Security and open Login Methods block.
  3. Under Local Accounts section, click Add User button.
  4. Fill in user information such as name, username, e-mail, password etc.
  5. Select Admin checkbox under Permission Groups, and click Save.
  6. Go back to Security.
  7. In the Public section, click Manage Permission link.
  8. Uncheck all “Administrative Menus, “Device Management” and “Apps” controls.
  9. Uncheck all Function Access that you want to be restricted.
  10. Then, click Save.

Log in to the printer

  1. At the web browser, enter the IP address of the Lexmark printer.
  2. On the printer home page, click [Log In].
  3. When prompted, enter a valid administrator username and password.

  1. Click [Log In].

Configuring the IP address

  1. In the left menu, select Settings > Network/Ports > Ethernet.
  2. Either enable the Enable DHCP checkbox or set a static IP address by clicking the Set Static IP Address link.

Install the API

Lexmark devices require the Celiveo Webservice API to be enabled and installed because they cannot interface with SQL Server directly and as such, need to go through the Celiveo webservice API.
To download and install the Celiveo Webservice API:

  1. In the Web Admin, add your Lexmark printer and select it.
  2. Go to the Settings menu and select DB Settings.
  3. Select your database and click Edit.
  4. Enter the address IP of the machine on which your Web Admin is installed.
  5. The URL and Key fields are automatically populated.
  6. Click the Download button.
  7. Open the downloaded zip file and run the CeliveoAPI.exe file.
